Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort, Las Vegas NV, 2021

An Italian style resort on Lake Las Vegas, east of the city, but just west of the Hoover Dam. It was a very good points spend so I could use my credit card free night stay at The Westin Resort.

Arrival

After landing in Las Vegas, it was over to rental car building (this is a ways away on the bus) then get the car, and driving off to the resort. It's not super close, you'll need a car. Parking is free though.
The main entrance, this draws you through the first floor to the lobby
Wear your damn masks people (this didn't age well)
The check-in lobby. Very distanced
I just really like this interior wall
Atrium, and... the all important bar

The Room

A quality sized suite with guest bathroom, living area, large Samsung TV (many hotels are going LG or other lately), good sized bedroom. Dedicated makeup vanity, slightly cramped master bath with an AWESOME shower but you need to close the door to use the bathroom fully, the only detraction on anything on the property I saw.

Those white tea scented amenities, a wet bar. A good room. I really enjoyed it. Oh yes, big closet too.
Suite living area
Look the toilet seat is down, Happy Lora? (my editor who always complains about this)
Good room around the huge huge bed
I like this shower a lot, and the water temp was even too hot for me on max. Excellent
Biggest room on the floor

The Restaurants

Several places to eat on site (one of my requirements to actually consider a property a real resort is at least 3 dining/bar options; otherwise they are just labeling it to scam more money with a resort fee).

Marssa, a Japanese-fusion (ugh) place. Marrakesh Express, a quick-stop pickup food place. Sands Bar & Grill, the poolside option. Rick's Cafe, where I ate breakfast (as shown by the menu and food) as I was only there for one night and by the time I got in it was basically 10pm anyways.
Tempting for breakfast, but I had driving to do
Dining room at Rick's, obviously low occupancy that day

The Resort Grounds

It's actually a very decent resort. Spa, multiple pools, a beach (don't get excited about that one, you'll see), recreation activities, a gym.
Gaming in the large
The main pool
Not a resort without a cabana is it?
The lower pool, more oriented to splashing and playing
Lock away the little ones to enjoy the pool
The beach, see, I told you it was nothing too special
Mmm, an essential part of a resort, the pool bar
There is a large patio area that is serviced at the evening.
Nice outdoor space
Real wood in the fires
Lower section the water continues down
And then paths for running/walking around the property that go through the garden area.
Pretty, deserty type garden
My room was the highest floor up there on the left, a few of the windows
Softer path for those runner types
Can you see the coyote up the trail? He saw me

Summary

Truly a resort property. Quiet, off the main runs, on Lake Las Vegas (don't get excited, it's not that big a lake). The food was great, the room superb. I like it, and after my trip was over I was wishing I had stayed here the entire time instead. If I was doing nothing and wanting to just relax I would plant my butt here and not move. I recommend.

You need a car to get here. A cab will cost another mortgage payment.
